You can pay existing players more than they would get elsewhere and still have it be less expensive than going out and bidding for transfers, especially if your existing players aren't highly sought by other teams and you as a coach are not attractive to players in the TP. Players have a pretty good idea of how they would do in the TP. And it's a risk for a player to give up his current position to go into the TP. It's only your opinion that "the evidence is pointing to 'the fact' that players like playing for Cronin". What they are getting payed is a critical factor, and we don't have that information.
