and then realized I was getting verbose again and canceled it.
Yes: what these studies show, as far as I understand, is that frequent and intense acetaminophen use in pregnancy increases the risk of neural development. (a) Again, as far as I know, these are not studies specifically singling out autism or ADHD, and (b) it is already a known fact that high fever during pregnancy has a negative impact on neural development. So it is the tylenol or the reason women take tylenol? If so, in what doses and at what point in the pregnancy? There are sh*tloads of i's you need to dot and t's you need to cross before you go out and tell women that it's their fault and they need to tough it out (getting serious misogyny vibes there). Not with the clown put on by messrs Brainworm and Mush-for-Brain over there and little woody over here. They can make grand proclamations because their guts tell them it feels right that tylenol is the culprit here. And also the vaccines. Tomorrow it's going to be not having sex with right wing incels.
I think there is better evidence that the age of the parents may be a factor that increases the likelihood of autism in children, If I'm not mistaken, the age of each parent seems to be a factor and the likelihood increases when both parents are older. In a lot of ways, I think this aligns much better with the perception that cases of autism are on the rise: people are increasingly more commonly having children later in life (once again, wild west capitalism is the villain here).
BTW, I do understand autism is a serious condition that can be quite a challenge for families who have to deal with it, but I have to also note that the way this has turned into a some form of moral panic makes me wonder to what extent this furor (see? I did a pun) is centered around white supremacy. I mean having these perfectly aryan blonde, blue eyed kids not being able to live up to the potential promised to them by their superior genes has got to be an especially sore point for these people, politically and culturally.
