The other interesting thing in that scenario IF Dems take the majority in both houses and GOP then gets them to retire immediately SCOTUS is now short 2 members.
IF Trump is in the process of trying to steal the midterm elections through a variety of schemes it may well bit him in the butt that Thomas and Alito, 2 people who basically rubber stamp his desires, are suddenly not on the court and the 6-3 advantage is now only 4-3. Would the remaining 4 rubber stamp something as historically signficant as overthrowing an election?
So trying to beat the Dem house and senate might actually guarantee that there IS a Dem house and Senate
