The implications are huge. If the Dems take the Senate this time, and keep it in 2028, there will be a chance to flip two Supreme Court seats under a Democratic president. Thomas and Alito will be 80 and 78.
Hahaha. Who am I kidding. If the Democrats take the Senate in November, one of these will happen.
- Thomas and/or Alito retire. The Republicans ram through their replacements before January.
- Even if they retire after the Democratic Senate is seated, Chuck Shumer folds like a cheap suit and lets the nominations go through leaving in tact the 6-3 MAGA majority.
