Sure it needs to be national so that companies can't escape it by moving headquarters, but at the end of the day, someone has to start this. Why not California? If we still claim to be ahead of the curve, we need to lay the tracks down for the rest of the nation to follow.
Also is there any chance that the congress will institute a federal wealth tax. That's never happening. Not before enough states take the lead.
