it was a terrific season

I think the injury to Reddemann started a cascade effect that wore the pitching staff down some - relievers had to be called on all the time for a long period of the late season through the end.

Softball had a plan, a program built on loyalty exemplified by Tinsley and the Bash Sisters Grant and Wollery. Losing their expected two young pitchers pulled the rug out from under them. You could hear the disappointment in the HC after the game.

Softball outplayed expectations by far and set a whole slew of hitting records; baseball was the best in the country, hit some bumps late and wore down, falling short at the end.

Sad day indeed. But a really terrific season for both programs.

Softball graduates three - a terrific three they are but 17 of the 20 are back. We need a couple experienced arms for sure but we'll be good again. Baseball will have to dig deeper and has farther to go to build it back but they will.

Thanks for the memories, kids. Onward and upward!
