The best ways to overcome bad calls - there will always be
bad calls - are to shoot better than 35%, shoot better than 2-13 from 3,
and not commit 17 GD turnovers. I don't know where this team ranks
in turnovers, but it must be near the bottom.
The Bruins are good, obviously, but sloppy. Close's teams historically
have been somewhat slovenly. Low percentage shooting and too many
turnovers can still be overcome vs. so-so teams, but not ones like
usc and what's ahead in the tournament.
Shoot 50% and commit no more than 5 or 6 turnovers, and the
Bruins win, a gypsy fortune teller told me - although she asked me
not to use the word "gypsy" because it's now considered a slur.
