We didn't get that far, but we got a very difficult matchup in the second round. Of course, that is on us. If we hadn't taken a couple of bad losses, we probably would have had at least Mississippi's seed and we would be facing Iowa State today.
I am not saying we would have beat the Cyclones, but they would have been a better matchup.
As for next season, most other teams are going to have a TON of production to replace. Because there are both 4th-year and 5th-year seniors leaving, there will be an unusually high number of players with their eligibility expiring.
Yes, there will be a ton of players in the portal, but there will also be a LOT of teams with holes to fill competing for the best players in the portal. We are in good shape, losing one starter and one sub to graduation.
Meanwhile, lots of people are ready to write off players like Dylan Andrews and Sebastian Mack. They seem to forget that players improve from year to year. I still remember Ryan Hollins being written off by most fans and ending up as MVP of the West Regional.
Meanwhile Michigan has had a pretty impressive turn-around. Whatever happens in the next game, you and your wife have had a feel-good season.
