I get the sense that we might actually be a little closer in our thinking than it might seem. Not necessarily in terms of being ready to move on from Cronin, but perhaps in how we’re evaluating where things stand right now. It seems like the main difference may be that you feel the recent stretch reflects adjustments that were already part of the plan and that things are moving in the right direction, while I’m probably still waiting to see a bit more before feeling fully confident about that.
The recent wins at home, the apology, and the calmer demeanor over the last couple of weeks are definitely encouraging signs. At the same time, it’s just been hard for me to completely set aside the longer track record — the past sideline incidents, the 23–24 season, the early exit last year, and what has felt like a somewhat disappointing season so far.
Of course, it’s entirely possible that things have already settled into a better place. If the team finishes strong, the sideline stuff fades into the background, and next year’s roster comes together well, that would obviously be a great outcome. I don’t think constant coaching turnover is the answer either, so stability working out would be ideal.
Rather than going back and forth on it, I’m honestly just curious about your perspective on one thing. What would the threshold be for you in terms of concern about Cronin’s tenure? Would it be related to roster construction next year, another middle-of-the-pack conference finish, or something like another highly publicized sideline incident? I’m just interested in how you personally think about where that line might be.
