I have always respected your knowledge of the game which is much greater than mine and your POV is probably the fairest, innocent until proven guilty.
As you said, there is no definitive evidence of tampering. But the situation is odd in that Mara had agreed to return for a specific NIL amount before going to Spain. Maybe Mara himself or someone in his circle reconsidered.
I put a lot of stock in Tracy Pierson's opinion on UCLA matters. He has a close personal relationship with Cronin. I don't believe he would mention tampering without a solid source possibly within the program suggesting that.
At the end of the day what I think or someone else shouldn't affect your enjoyment of Michigan's Natty.
I'd also offer that at the highest levels many coaches are trying to get an edge and skirt the rules. It's clear that Harrick did that while at UCLA and that doesn't stop me from enjoying the '95 championship.
And not to throw more wood on the fire, but did the Harbaugh scandal detracted from your enjoyment of Michigan's championship in football?
