I am reticent to post this as I know our favorite basketball board troll will be all over it, but what do we think of Cronin's progress over the past five years?

It appears to me that recruiting has been a struggle in the portal era. Cronin seems to rarely get the highly ranked local kids from high schools. This may be intentional as he may prefer kids that already have college experience. That being said we usually seem to miss out on most of our targets in the portal. We get decent players, but not enough in the way of difference makers. Cronin has been complaining he doesn't have enough money. Perhaps that is true, but it is hard for me to believe that all the teams ahead of us in the preseason rankings have more money than UCLA. I don't follow recruiting as closely has many here do so perhaps I am missing something. What are peoples thoughts here? I like Cronin for the most part, but the results have been lacking lately.
