He inherited from Mora some crazy amount of guys that that played in the NFL. Mora had a down period there, with his divorce, but he had a good recruiting class setting up, that Chip blew up.
Put the roster that Mora left against the roster that Chip left. It's a joke.
My reaction to Foster's hiring has nothing to do with Chip. As others on the board will attest, I've been saying for over a decade "just hire a guy that is currently head coaching and doing a good job." If my reaction is a reaction to Chip, then some how, 15 years ago, I knew Chip was going to be hired.
I posted a list of 7 guys that would have been outstanding hires, and who should have been happy to move from their school to a school like UCLA. My reaction is to UCLA having failed to do the conventionally intelligent thing for over 50 years.
And, since you got a response out of me. What position coaches have been promoted directly to D1 head coaches? Some one mentioned Dabo, who interimmed into it. Who else?
I'm ready to move on, support Foster. But, I've got to respond to this post.
