Completely agree on all points.

The Bruin media is doing its best to convince fans that offering is the same as recruiting and since there are more offers out now than last year at this time (presumably), the media is asking us to believe recruiting has improved.

No!

As you wisely point out, only when the player is enrolled and attending classes is that player successfully recruited. Until then, anything can and usually these days does happen.

For the best talent, the final two weeks of their recruitment will determine where they go because that is when the money commitments become real and final. Until then, it's all happy talk.

Look for Ucla to loose recruits to top, better paying programs. If that doesn't happen, it isn't because Foster et. al. are recruiting geniuses. If we see an uptick in highly sought after national recruits coming here it would be because there is more money available with which to compete against the more heavily endowed programs.

Simply put, if, for example, tOSU wants a player, they're going to get him. But if they should somehow lose him, it won't be to Ucla. It will be to another big budget program who will top their final bid.

The coach's charisma, the program's "buzz", etc., have only a small roles to play now. It's all about the bag.

Fans need to wake up.
