The regents appointed Julio Frenk, from Miami as our new chancellor. I wonder how this will play out. I'm sure he's a good choice, considering the importance of the position. What's interesting is some people's attitudes. Obviously athletics is a small consideration compared to the other responsibilities of the chancellor.
Jon Wilner seems to think the sole purpose of any university is to support the athletics department. Not even the whole department. I'm sure Wilner thinks there are only two and half college sports.
John Canzano made an interesting point in one article. He attended a regents meeting to hear them discuss Calimony, but stayed for the whole meeting. He said that the importance of the other matters on their agenda put things into perspective.
