Here's a case of believing there is a measurable difference in subsequent on-field success for a 40 "ranked" group and a 91 "ranked" group. "Ranked" is in quotes because the "rankings" may as well be based on pixie dust.

There is no correlation between a class "ranking" and the subsequent competitive results for that program. The only predictive value the star "ranks" have ever had is before the portal era when the team that accumulated the most 5 star HS recruits won the most games, and usually the championship. There has never been a correlation to 4 stars or 3 stars. None.

In the portal era HS recruiting is equivalent to JV recruiting and I am expecting the previous 5 star signal to disappear, as championship teams will be assembled with transfers, not HS recruits. (NIL is paramount.)

I'm pointing out that anyone thinking we did better recruiting this year than we would've done anyway, without a coaching change is a sucker. We're in exactly the same place. This view that we are back in the recruiting game has been assigned to you by the duplicitous Bruin media. It's not real. Stop being a sucker.

Once you stop being a sucker, you'll see that the program is being held back, knee-capped, by the DMV of college football, Morgan Center. Only when Bruin fans perceive this base reality and pressure for change in administration will the program advance. Until then, enjoy the occasional Weedeater Bowl and college football obscurity.

In a decade, we could see the program disbanded. It's going to get more serious from here on very slowly and then all at once.
