Not only football, it will become a model for every sport. The interesting one is hoop. Hoop seems to be the only sport that benefits from the NCAA because of the tourney. Is there a better way to do the tourney? I’m not sure. It’s pretty much the only reason college hoop is relevant anymore, but maybe the NBA or another governing body had a better idea.
It’s the end of NCAA. It’s been neutered. This will make it completely irrelevant. It might not even exist anymore. Each sport will develop its own rules under its professional (or maybe even the USOC steps in for the Olympic sports) umbrella. Any one who has folllwed college sports closely knows it’s been semi-pro for years. Now they will officially become so.
