From the beginning. It’s definitely 50-50. Now if you’re now beginning the second half with receiving, sure there is an advantage going forward just as it was an advantage for the receiving team in the first half. And, it is completely irrelevant of who scored or didn’t score at the end of the first half.

Now of course there may have been some research into the percentage of times a team won by deferring, but that is not a mathematical proof.
