Many bad coaches blow it because they insist on playing/running their program in a way that can't win. Dorrell being a good example. Chip was another.
Other bad coaches are toxic.
Foster seems to be neither. He seems totally willing to wear a cool jacket and let his assistants do all the football stuff. At the same time, no one seems to dislike the guy or chafe under his leadership.
Therefore, maybe we will get lucky under Sunseri/Malloe. Maybe this McNown look-a-like QB will be good. Maybe Meat will bring some recruiting mojo back to UCLA.
Maybe Foster is a first-do-no-harm coach with a modest salary that gives us flexibility to hire better assistants.
Obviously reaching here but I guess we can hope?
