The only sane road would be to envelope all D1 college athletes into one union (I think I posted this a while back), all sports, male and female.
Have them negotiate terms with the NCAA. Those terms, if the Title 9 interpretation holds, must include an equal amount for male and female athletes. So, revenue from the CFP and Men's March Madness will go to, like the women's water polo team, and such.
Seems like that's the only way to reconcile the interpretations.
So, Labor's leverage is always going on strike. Do the athletes sit out March Madness if negotiations aren't going the way they want?
And, at this point, it's hard to imagine Ramogi wanting to share the wealth with the ladies. So, ya, it's wild.
I haven't really followed Sehorn's thoughts on splitting off football and just licensing the university names to the new - not otherwise affiliated with universities - league.
