I.e., if you think Patrick Cowan, Joe Cowan, Trey Brown, Rodney Van (!), Christian Taylor, Dennis Keyes, the Bosworths, and the "serviceable" Chris Markey represent "recruiting pretty well", then you and I have a very different view of what that means.
Aaron Ware? Michael Pitre? Are you serious?
I'm not making any comment on DF's recruiting. To be honest, I'm not even following it. I cannot name a single commit we have right now. I'm just saying that Dorrell was in fact a poor recruiter. You seem to remember most of these guys a lot more fondly than I do, because most of the guys on your list were just mid-Pac-10 level bodies, very hard to distinguish between dozens and dozens of guys who played for ASU, Oregon St., Arizona, Cal, WSU, and Stanford in the same era.
I remember every time Markey touched the ball thinking "this guy ain't a UCLA level running back". He, Everett and Breazell drew no interest from the NFL.
But I guess we only disagree on how good these guys were. You seem to have good memories of them. I would say Dorrell's rosters (and as a result of his recruiting, Neuheisel's rosters) were pretty short on talent.
