But I do think we could have handled this situation better, we should have told the Regents, including Newsom, prior to our announcement in June of 2022 that we were leaving for the B10. We wouldn't have asked them for permission, just informed them. I don't see how telling the Regents would've hurt us at that time and it may have helped us. But contrary to what UCLA and Block believed, it turned out that the Regents could block the move...
"In September (2022), UC regents general counsel Charles Robinson said the board had the authority to block the move." In December of 2022, the Regents did vote to approve our move to the B10 with conditions...which ultimately included Calimony.
