His stats at Cal Poly don’t stand out. And I guess he wasn’t recruited as a starter by any big D1 programs in the transfer market. But he looked very solid coming in in a high pressure situation— nationally televised game on the road.
His physical attributes are impressive. 6-6. Can run. He had only a few throws but his arm looks strong. That first pass that was dropped for a touchdown was inch perfect.
Could it be that it took time for this kid to grow into his body and mentally develop such that he is now a legit high level D1 starter that was somehow missed in the portal? Or am I being overly optimistic and relying on a tiny sample size.
