contract with Paramount, which was the essence of the old "studio system" AFAIK (Blu, correct me if I'm wrong).

So essentially Paramount shrank their talent pool completely. I'm sure Gary Sinise and Steven Segall are still available, though. They can line them up opposite Sidney Sweeney or something.
