a high crime or misdemeanor. Also given the presidential immunity granted by the Supreme Court, he cannot be accountable to to his actions as long as he's acting as the president. So that makes any and all inquiries to his mental state just an act of documentation for history.
Nevertheless, you might say, impeachment is a political acfuo. And not a criminal one, and one may redefine "high crimes and misdemwnaors" any eya they wish. True. But until and unless we have 2/3 of the congress and enough Republican senators who believe in democratic principles in this cynical age...
What's missing in this is the equivalent of a vote of confidence or a recall election. We don't have either. So unless and until he is visibly and undeniably incapacitated, he remains as the president the net three tears, causing as much damage domestically and internationally as he can, grinds the country down to dust, and when it's all over we look around to see what we have left to rebuild with (and all the restitution we'll be on the hook for).
Sorry to be the source of sunshine but 2024 was truly a critical election whose nature was not understood fully by most poeple who kept saying it was critical, and we lost it.
We didn't have a mechanism to get back from a mistake. Once we make it, we're locked in for four years.
I'm not taking any pleasure in saying all this myself. What's going on around us and the kind if crao that we're the ground zero for is reason enough to turn into an alcoholic, IMO. There's nothing to celebrate here, only penance to be paid.
