But a President can be impeached for anything that gets a 2/3 vote in the Senate. "Misdemeanor" in the Constitutional context does not mean jaywalking. It means misbehavior. Granted it would need to be intolerable misbehavior.

The key is not getting ahead of public sentiment. But if 72% of the public wants impeachment (not saying it will get there) it becomes possible.
