It's just a matter of using the codes: characters table.
Unicode didn't work (in my system ctrl+shift+u followed by 0069 and either a space or return for "i"), meaning the BZ censor saw through it.[*]
HTML code went right through though (the sequence of characters "&" "#" "1" "0" "5" ";" for "i"). It probably passes the censor as a sequence of characters, but your browser knows what character that sequence refers to.
There may be other ways too.
