For those who didn't see it, here's what happened: the French defender Lucas Digne was defending a ball that bounced high in the six-yard box. Lamine Yamal closed in on him from behind, and Digne never saw him coming. When Digne spun around to kick the ball, Lamal was already between him and the ball. Digne ended up kicking Yamal, not the ball. It was a clear penalty, but it arose in a weird way. After that first score, Spain retained complete control of the game, and that was it.

Spain deserved the win, no doubt about it. But I wonder how the match would have proceeded if it wasn't for that one weird play...
