He is susceptible to some real howlers in PL games. Plus he is very good at penalties which is a bigger part of cup games. But frankly he is a bit of a c**t, too.

Also helps when the official disallows a perfectly good goal because your defender grab and held the Spanish player before throwing himself to the ground
