Green card continues to matter to me personally

22 US states are now suing the trump admin for changes made to green cards that put millions of people in jeopardy of being deported. in this case the states argue that Trump wants to deport people who his administration determined MIGHT end up on government funding such as SNAP or something else in the future, including social security!

As I posted the other day my 91 year old dad is potentially in line to be deported and that's actually been our fear since this change, he's been collecting social security since he hit the age limit for it. Of course he worked for over 60 years and paid millions into the system but Trump has decided that non citizens shouldn't be able to get ANY funding even social security which they are 100% eligible to get.

So I get to go with him to USCIS and Monday to do his biometrics and hopefully find out what the next step is. But we consulted with someone unofficially who is an immigration attorney and she said it is VERY concerning that they changed from no biometrics needed in Dec, to yes he has to do it, because the changes Trump is making took place during that 9 month period so it's reasonable to assume those changes may now be impacting your dad/
