but I kinda cringe every time I hear about the Democratic line about the economy being hunky dory. I feel like the climate vs weather distinction we make in the discussion of global warming during a cold winter day kinda applies to the question of what is actually being measured by the metrics we're always taking comfort in. I remember the booming years where everyone was ecstatic about the mighty US economy while fixed income earners was entering whatever decade of their wage stagnation and the trickle-down wasn't exactly trickling at all.
