HE's got a base that will literally bend over backwards to avoid admitting they got fooled.
Now they realize the tariffs are actually going to happen and he wasn't just bluffing they're now all defending tariffs. It's going to promote the jobs coming back to the US via manufacturing that's a good thing.
They went from he's not going to do them, to they're good and it will be fine. When you point out having those jobs in the US will raise costs the same people who insist they voted Trump for lower prices are suddenly fine with paying higher prices beceause of tariffs.
And with deportations they're suddenly fine with paying americans more to do the jobs the immigrants were doing. And they have no problem pretending they believe Americans will actually do those jobs
ANd when all that doesn't happen, they will just blame Biden. He broke things so badly even Trump can't fix it quickly
