Cronin makes some good points here. One of Cronin's strengths as a coach is developing players and teaching players how to play a sophisticated intricate man to man defense. This takes time and years. In modern college basketball the importance and necessity of bringing in freshmen has diminished and high roster turnover every year is the norm. All of this works against Cronin. Right now what we are seeing is his attempts at adjusting and relearning how to do all the aspects of coaching. Not an easy task for anyone.
