I always felt teams in the Pac-12 were handicapped by a weak league with few quality OOC wins and too many OOC losses to bad teams.
I also thought that the SEC was over-rated because they played so many weak OOC teams. While I wasn't thrilled about joining the Big Ten, I thought at least we would be joining a strong league with lots of quality OOC wins.
I took a look at how the SEC and Big Ten scheduled and did against Power 4 Conference opponents and Notre Dame.
This year it seems that the SEC gets the bragging rights. They are playing 13 P4 teams and they have a record of 9-3. (One game is yet to be played.) Their best wins are Texas A&M over Notre Dame and Oklahoma over Michigan.
Meanwhile the Big Ten is playing 9 P4 teams with a 3-5 record. (SC-Notre Dame is yet to be played.) Our best wins are Ohio State over Texas and Nebraska over Cincinnati.
As much as I HATE to admit it, the SEC has a more impressive OOC record than the Big Ten does.
