There seems to be a massive groundswell around the Penn State program to fire James Franklin.
Here's a coach who has won 11, 10, and 13 games in the last 3 seasons, and came within a whisker of making the national chamionship game last season. He has won 11 games three other times at PSU.
He has won 72% of his games at Penn State. It doesn't match up to Joe Paterno's 75%, but it's pretty damned close to matching one of the greatest of all time.
And the fans don't think a $56 million dollar buyout is anything to worry about. It's not like the school is going to be paying $22 million or more every year directly to athletes.
FWIW, the only UCLA coaches to win 72% of their games are Dick Vermiel, Red Sanders, and Ed Kezerian.
When's the last time UCLA won 11 football games in a season? That would be never.
I have two words for Penn State fans. "Bo Pelini." He was fired after winning "only" 71% of his games. Since then, Nebraska has won 43% of their games over the next 16 years.
