Democratic consultants, the number one reason in my mind why Harris-Walz lost the election in '24 are back with more wisdom cut from the same cloth of Jeffries-Schumer leadership: focusing on economic issues at the expense of everything else. These are probably the same geniuses that recommended that Democrats stop talking about Abrego Garcia case. Also probably why the party still wants talk only about the economy, which drives me nuts: Here we have a guy in the WH, building a fascist state brick by brick, complete with his own paramilitary force, and all the Democrats can say is that this is all a distraction from the real issues, which is always economics. Soon the gestapo will knock on their door to arrest them and shutter their party, and they will still claim that it is all a distraction from tariffs. It's pretty sickening.
Adam Curtis (whose documentaries I'd been linking to on and off on this forum) talks about the end of ideas in western democracies and how politics have been reduced to management. That resonates so well with the Democratic Party. They are out of ideas, they really don't have anything to believe in any more, anything to stand for, and all they have left on their plate is management, which is the only thing they are willing to talk about. Not leadership, not any vision for the country, just endless and abstract back and forth on numbers and tax credits and all the minutiae of basic management.

arguing that directly attacking Trump's deployment of the National Guard in DC is politically unwise. It encourages the use of terms like distraction and stunt. (I am not endorsing this kind of thinking at all. ) www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/bz9d8...

The document is chilling. I was going to pull some excerpts but somehow I can't get the formatting right. The text appears one character per line when I copy.
