Cronin is not a particularly good coach at teaching offense. But to me, that’s a given. I long ago accepted that. I think where we disagree is that as far as this teams goes, and strictly comparing this team to his prior Bruin teams, this one is far more defensively challenged than offensively challenged.
As he himself stated last night, “We scored 72 points, that should be enough to win a road game in the B1G.” And he’s right. If you look back to last year, 72 was enough to win most games for him. But that team defended better than this one.
But yes, his offense sucks. This particular group of players are just more offensively gifted than most of the players on past teams. It’s not anything he’s doing different or better.
