Most of the colleges you mention have singular billionaire benefactors.

UCLA funnels those benefactors to either building projects or the medical center.

People who live in a place like LA would like their money to go to those types of projects rather than the FB team.

The Ohio State NIL pool collects charity money to give to FB players. UCLA would like charity money to go to actual charities.
