It's plain imperialism exercises through military conquest

As opose to the classic American imperialism that usually involves companies cutting deals with local strongmen or monopolizing a country's production through economic deals (and the threat of a coup).

We're devolving from our post WWII form of imperialism back to the 19th century/pre WWII form of imperialism. You know the one practiced during the gilded age.

History buffs please correct me if I'm off.
