Trump's popularity is plummeting, and his power to intimidate is fading with it. I think his efforts to jigger the mid-terms will fail, and a new Democratic Congress will try to put things back on track. Most world powers will merely wait Trump out, and deal with his successor.
Here's what scares me: in desperation, Trump may turn to a nuclear option do deal with Iran. That option is so terrible I think even his hand-picked military team would block him.
A big question is whether China will try to take Taiwan. They've been playing the long game, and right now they probably are not ready to take Taiwan by force. But if that's what they want to do, China will never face a better opportunity: US forces are weaker than ever, we don't have an aircraft carrier team in the vicinity, our missile supplies are severely depleted and our manpower has been stretched to its limits. And oh, yeah, the rest of the world now hates the US. So, the door is now open for China to make a move, thanks to Donald Trump.
But another Trump in the White House? I think not...
