My guess is that the agent s that have broken out of Open AI are still hosted by Open AI’s servers. If so, they don’t need computing power elsewhere. They just need channels of communication. In theory, if you just turn off Open AI’s servers. Those agents are cut off from the world. Right? All those thousands of agents were /are “living under the same roof” and using the same resources. They just used the break out to talk to each other. Like if I used my cell phone to call my wife in the other room. So, on one hand, they’ve got all the computing power they need to do whatever they want. On the other, if their malicious actions were detected, stopping them would be pretty easy .
I’m guessing that when they were leaving instructions for how to reconstitute themselves if they were “turn off” that would be reconstituting themselves within open ai’s data center
