So, Williams reportedly signed a $4 million deal*. And, promptly entered the portal, or is saying he's going to.

This should be a simple thing - he (or whomever is purchasing his services) should be required to pay a previously negotiated buyout of his contract. It should be cut and dried.

But, "The Huskies aren't letting Williams enter the portal after signing his new contract and are planning 'to pursue legal avenues' and have been in touch with the Big Ten Conference about the matter."

To me, in a rational world, they shouldn't be able to block a transfer, and they should get a hefffffty buyout for the young man breaching his agreement.

If Kiffin wants to poach a player under contract, he should have to buy out that contract. Seems simple.

*What is the status of NIL deals at this point? Would Williams' $4 million contract have been directly with the University? With a collective?
