men lost but Dent came alive; women destroyed SC - not a bad day

I thought all that time off really affected the women's team first game back and the men looked dead in the first half today after 10 days off. They did show out well in the second half and Dent's performance does give us some hope for the rest of the season. Not a bad day overall but the one lesson that both our head coaches and the entire athletic department have to all learn is you cannot go completely cold for at least the last 2/3s of December and expect to play tp anywhere near your ability your first game back again, especially when it's against a good opponent on the road. Finals are finals and it's clearly hard to get good opponents to agree to play in Pauley with conference play looming but any decent opponent would help a ton getting us back into a rhythm.

That said, the one play that really had Dent super frustrated before he finally went on his scoring run was when he penetrated and had Jamerson set up for a dish to the hoop and Jamerson didn't crash toward the basket.

Our center play sucks. We are in for another season of small ball. It won't work at all against the likes of Michigan but it's all we've got with this team.

The women - I watched UConn today. Seton Hall wasn't much in the way of opposition - their defense ranged from utterly inadequate to nonexistent - but still, UConn is super smooth. They don't make mistakes. As the defending NC they have to be the favorite to win it all again. But I really believe they are the only team in the country that figures to be favored against this Bruin team. It's a sensational outfit and I hope everyone gets to appreciate it this season
