the moral dimension of the investment, not whether it was an economically sound investment.

FWIW, I took the original comment about whether private prisons are an investment opportunity also to be a statement questioning the morality of investing in prisons. If you guys are discussing the economic viability of investment in prisons, I have nothing to say about that.
