You think we have a better shot vs. Illinois than Michigan St.? The latter is terrible. They can't hardly score at all.
And you think we're going 0-4 against Oregon/Minnesota/Michigan/sc? Have you seen these teams play? Michigan and sc are deeply flawed and probably getting increasingly toxic by the time we play them. Minnesota looks pretty good but they don't have the talent for us to write that game off.
Closing out 3-5 with a losing record in conference is a pretty bleak view considering we don't play Ohio St., don't play Indiana, and get Michigan and sc in non-special years. And get an Oregon team who hasn't looked quite right and is now down a starting QB.
I see Nevada as a free win.
2/3 against Wisconsin/MSU/Illinois is highly probable, with a good shot at 3.
At least one win vs that earlier 4-team group is highly probable, with a good shot at 2.
A 7-5 season would let a lot of the air out of the balloon and would not make me confident going into next season. 7-5 (or worse) is what happens if Nico gets hurt, but it's not likely otherwise.
